Starting from 18 February 2022, individuals in Malaysia who wish to register with the ECCRIS can do so directly online, no need to visit any branch of Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) or Credit consulting and Debt Management Agency (AKPK) . According to a new user registration program released by the National Bank, individuals can now register for ECCRIS simply by going to the ECCRIS website and clicking “Register now”. But the new feature only works if you have MyKad and an online bank account. Those who do not have an internet banking account, permanent residence in Malaysia, or are not citizens of Malaysia and business users will not be subject to the above procedure, but they can continue to use the original registration procedure, i.e. to register at the registration kiosk at the AKPK office, or visit telelink.bnm.gov.my and log in to use eLINK. Process: 1. Click “Register now” and you will be prompted to enter and confirm your personal information, after which your identity will be digitally verified. 2. Transfer RM1 to the designated BNM account via Internet bank. After that the fee will be refunded to you within 2 working days after successful registration. 3. After registering, you can log in for the first time on the ECCRIS website by entering your Mykad number and the 6 digit OTP provided to you. 4. This OTP is only valid for seven days, so be sure to perform your first login before it expires. 5. Then continue setting your user ID, password and other personal security requirements. 6. Visit the ECCRIS web site and get your CCRIS report any time. Deputy Governor Marzunisham Omar said, “These enhancements make it more convenient and safer for individual users to register for eCCRIS and have access to their CCRIS reports, all from the comfort of their homes.” But BNM also pointed out that the new online registration function only applies to individual users in Malaysia. Companies and non-malaysian Individuals Still Need to register with eLINK on BNM’s TELELINK website. Follow LoanPanda on FaceBook & Tiktok to get more information.
